"Have you been waiting long, little bird?" I spoke softly, i knew sudden noises, quick movements, and she'd be off, a flutter of wings and feathers. Her only answer was to tilt her head to either side, still smiling like she knew something.
"The sun never waits for the moon, yet here we are, yes. I think maybe i shouldnt have, but i had to yes. . . why i dont know, but i am drawn to you as the Sun Lost." she hops down off her bench, off the back of the bench anyway, and lands with perfect grace, arms out like steadying wings. a hop to her step, as if she tries to not jump into the air, and she's infront of me, looking up into my eyes, her own shifting always. "But yo ucame yes, but why hmm? Sun and Moon we are, hunt and hunted. i am prey, scavenger, you the hunter. weak i am, in body to you . . .but why hmm? yes why. .. always why"
"Curious raven, can a wolf not covet your wings? your color? i only want to be near you, to watch you, to listen and to answer."
"But why, always this and that with you.... tell me why."
Stunned that she made it an order, not a question, i smiled and gave her a gentle kiss as an answer "does that work?"
"for now yes, but soon, i will need to know why. always why with me, yes. i must learn, i must tell. always why yes yes" She kissed me back, hands lightly on my chest.
"My raven, i doubt even your Sun and my Moon could guess our why, but then... that's neither here nor there, hmm?"
"Always so with you, this and that yes, this and that and why. . ." Her soft smile mimicking mine as we walk, hand in hand to the darker part of the park where i can run and she can fly.
